We are proud to announce the launch of the Empowered by Empathy Project. This meaningful initiative, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, is designed to enhance the emotional intelligence and caregiving capabilities of professionals working with children in institutional and disadvantaged settings.

Project Purpose and Vision

The project aims to address a deeply rooted need in the field of social services: supporting the emotional development of children through empowered and empathetic caregiving. At its core, the project seeks to equip caregivers—such as those working in children’s homes—with educational tools and strategies that promote emotional intelligence and empathy in their daily interactions.

Although institutionalized children are the primary focus, the project’s reach will extend to all disadvantaged children, ensuring their healthy emotional development through well-trained and emotionally aware caregivers.

What Will the Project Do?

The Empowered by Empathy Project will develop and implement several key outputs:

  • A Needs Analysis to identify challenges faced by caregivers.
  • An Emotional Development Supporting Education Program in the form of Open Educational Resources (OER).
  • A Trainer’s Guidebook for delivering the emotional development curriculum effectively.
  • A Digital Education Platform to disseminate these resources widely.
  • A Multiplier Conference to raise awareness and encourage adoption of the program at national and international levels.

All content will be created in a multicultural, inclusive, and culturally sensitive manner, making the resources adaptable across different European contextsKA210-ADU-355978EA EMPA….

A United European Effort

The project brings together dedicated partners from Turkey, Portugal, and Poland, each with a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable populations. Their collaboration ensures a high-quality, transnational perspective in the design and implementation of training tools and educational platforms.

Erasmus+ Support

The Erasmus+ Programme provides essential support, allowing Empoweed by Empathy to move beyond local solutions and create sustainable, scalable models for caregiving that are informed by empathy and emotional intelligence.

Looking Ahead

Running from May 5, 2025 to July 31, 2026, the EMPATİ Project will soon begin development of its educational modules and digital tools. Stakeholders—particularly social workers, trainers, and institutions working with children—are encouraged to follow the project’s progress and participate in its upcoming trainings and dissemination events.

Together, we can help ensure that every child receives not only care—but empathetic, emotionally supportive care.
