The CareLink project—an ambitious Erasmus+ initiative—has officially launched, and we at REDEFINE are thrilled to take on a central leadership role. With the project running from August 2024 through July 2026, our mission is clear: to empower vulnerable youth with digital, psychological, and emotional tools to better navigate the aftermath of disasters.

At its core, CareLink seeks to create a resilient environment by linking mental, psychological, and emotional support systems for young people aged 15–24, especially those affected by conflict, forced migration, natural disasters, and systemic marginalization.

🌱 Our Role in CareLink: Leading the Digital Frontier

As the designated leader of the AI-Adapted E-Learning Platform, REDEFINE is developing one of the most transformative outputs of the entire CareLink initiative. This platform will serve as a digitally accessible, inclusive, and intelligent learning environment—a space for growth, healing, and education.

Key Components of the E-Learning Platform:

  • AI-powered personalization: Tailoring content to user needs, learning patterns, and emotional readiness.
  • Multilingual support: Ensuring accessibility across all participating countries and beyond.
  • Interactive learning modules: Focused on trauma recovery, mental health, emotional regulation, and disaster preparedness.
  • Youth-first design: Built with feedback from young people in post-disaster communities.

Our work bridges mental health science, community development, and cutting-edge digital technology to ensure that young people can access meaningful support anytime, anywhere.

🔍 Why This Matters

Disasters—whether caused by war, climate events, or displacement—leave lasting scars. Research shows that 75% of mental health challenges emerge before the age of 25, and without early support, these challenges can persist for years. The CareLink platform meets youth where they are—digitally—and provides tools to build resilience and agency in their recovery.

By developing this platform, REDEFINE is helping ensure that mental health support is no longer reactive—but proactive, inclusive, and enduring.

📌 What We Aim to Achieve by the End of 2025

As part of our strategic roadmap, REDEFINE has set clear targets to accomplish by December 2025:

  1. Fully functional E-Learning Platform online
With tested AI-integrated features and a responsive, intuitive interface designed for diverse youth users.
  2. Completion of the first full cycle of pilot testing
Gathering data and user feedback from youth and professionals across all six partner countries to refine platform features.
  3. Publication of an Implementation Toolkit for Digital Mental Health
A practical guide for NGOs, educators, and youth workers on how to use the platform effectively.
  4. Launch of open-access training modules
Covering key topics such as self-regulation in crisis, building emotional resilience, recognizing trauma symptoms, and community-based coping mechanisms.
  5. Hosting a youth-focused Learning, Teaching & Training (LTT) Activity in Portugal
Welcoming young people from across Europe to test and engage with the platform in real time, with hands-on facilitation and peer interaction.

🤝 Building a Resilient Youth Network

As we lay the foundation for the CareLink platform, we are also laying the groundwork for lasting relationships—between youth, families, educators, and policymakers. Through this digital hub, we aim to foster a pan-European community of care, courage, and collaboration.
